“Wake up” is in reference to the idea of “awakening”. It actually has two (maybe more?) meanings: (1) to realize I am more than my mind/body/ego, and (2) to realize that our physical reality is a dream. Both a fairly common views in New Age spirituality. There is also the idea of being politically “woke”, which some connect to spiritual awakening, but I am not referring to that.
Regarding your second question, I might revisit that to explain it more clearly. I meant to say that we recognize the dream characteristics of lower dimensions better than we recognize the characteristics of higher dimensions. The word “dream” is optional in that context.
If can consider plants or bugs, for example, as a kind of lower dimensional state of being. From our apparently higher dimensional consciousness, we can see how their context limits their existence. With careful study, we can learn a lot about their limits. It is harder for us to see our own limitations (that is what the sciences are forever exploring). And it is impossible for us to know the limitations of higher dimensions.
In the article, I referred to each of these levels as having a different “dream nature”. But I think I will revise that somehow to something like “dream characteristics”.
The idea is “higher” dimensions means “broader” perspective. But that also depends on how we define the spiritual dimensions.
Thanks for the question. — Alan
