I also grew up in a kind of cult— Catholic schools! :)

I think there are some basic spiritual paradigms that are ingrained in our 3rd Dimensional human experience and give a degree of continuity across many, if not all, traditions. Unfortunately, our human words and thinking can only point to the fuller reality that really exists, which I believe is beyond 3D human comprehension.
